Festas Populares estão a chegar!!! É já em Junho!!! \ Santos Populares are coming !!! It's in June !!!
Vem o calor e os portugueses procuram a praia, as esplanadas e os petiscos. Chega o mês de Maio e os portugueses começam a pensar nas férias de Verão. E quando se aproxima o fim do mês de Maio, todos pensam nos Santos populares!
De norte a sul do país, comemora-se, o Santo António, no dia 13, o São João, no dia 24, e o São Pedro, no dia 29. Santos padroeiros de diversas cidades, são comemorados de forma entusiástica na noites anteriores e prolongam-se noite fora, até ser dia.
Cada localidade festeja o seu santo padroeiro, mas as celebrações mais famosas são o Santo António de Lisboa e o São João do Porto.
Santo António
Em #Lisboa, durante a noite de 12 de Junho, na Avenida de Liberdade, realiza-se o desfile das marchas populares, acontecimento que se realiza desde 1932, e que consiste num desfile de habitantes dos vários bairros da cidade, que contam uma história alusiva à cidade, cantam a musica composta para a ocasião e desfilando balões, fatos e arcos. Todos os anos é escolhido um bairro vencedor e o bairro que detém o titulo é o bairro de Alfama.
Todos os bairros são enfeitados com flores e balões e em cada bairro é possível ouvir música popular e jantar, e em especial da sardinha assada. É uma noite de tradições verdadeiramente portuguesas.
São João
No #Porto, os festejos são diferentes. Se em tempos, as pessoas caminhavam na rua com alhos-porros e batiam nas cabeças de quem passavam, hoje em dia utiliza-se martelos de plástico, mas a finalidade é a mesma.
Cada bairro, faz o mesmo tipo de festejo que em Lisboa, música popular para se dançar, comida e bebidas e muita cor dos enfeites colocados pelas seus habitantes. Os bairros mais procurados são as Fontainhas, a Ribeira e Miragaia. À meia-noite, pode-se assistir ao fogo de artificio no rio Douro, junto à Ponte de S.Luís e lançam-se balões de ar quente.
Depois do espectáculo pirotécnico, as pessoas percorrem as ruas da cidade até ser dia. A tradição diz que quem festejou toda a noite, vê o nascer do sol na praia e mergulha no mar antes de regressar a casa.
São Pedro
O São Pedro é comemorado em Sintra e Évora, onde os festejos são grandes e como sempre, existe música popular, baile, comida e boa disposição.
É igualmente tradição, saltar fogueiras, e os namorados oferecerem as suas namoradas, um vaso de manjerico com quadras alusivas ao amor.

From north to south of the country, Santo António is celebrated on the 13th, São João on the 24th, and São Pedro on the 29th. Patron saints from various cities are celebrated enthusiastically on previous nights and go until the da starts.

After the pyrotechnic show, people roam the streets of the city until daylight. Tradition says that whoever feted all night, sees the sunrise on the beach and dives into the sea before returning home.
São Pedro
São Pedro is celebrated in Sintra and Évora, where the festivities are great and as always, there is popular music, dancing, food and good mood.
It is also tradition, to jump bonfires, and the boyfriends offer their girlfriends, a vase of basil with blocks allusive to love.
